Why We Exist
We're not trying to be the biggest club in Kansas City.
We're trying to be the one that gets it right. IMPACT Basketball started with a simple frustration: too many programs make families choose between real player development and a coach who actually knows their kid.
So we built something smaller and more deliberate, around three things: real relationships, a genuinely fun atmosphere, and real basketball instruction. Every coach on our staff knows every kid they coach — not just their position. Practice stays something players want to show up for, and fundamentals get taught, not assumed. Participating in practice and being put in the right situations in games is key to that growth — so every kid plays and finds their own way to make an impact on the game and the team.
IMPACT Basketball is a for-profit club based in Kansas City, Missouri, built to serve families on both sides of the state line — from Jackson County to Johnson County and everywhere in between.
Our Priorities
Three priorities. Every practice.
Real Relationships First
Every coach on staff knows every kid they coach — name, story, and what's going on off the court. Trust comes before technique.
A Fun Atmosphere
Kids play their best — and stick with the game longest — when practice is something they look forward to, not something they dread.
We Teach Basketball
Ball-handling, footwork, shot mechanics, reading the game — real instruction every practice, not just supervised scrimmaging.

The Difference
Why KC families choose IMPACT Basketball
Metro-wide, not one zip code
We serve families across the full Kansas City area — Missouri and Kansas sides alike.
Coaches who actually know your kid
Small, hands-on coaches who are in the gym every week, building real relationships — not a franchise stamping out teams.
One flat price, no surprises
Transparent monthly tuition. You'll always know exactly what a season costs before it starts.
Built by someone who's been in the gym
IMPACT Basketball is led by a coach with 30 years of hands-on youth sports experience in Kansas City, not a corporate office.
Founder & Head Coach
Led By
Coach Sam Cook
Coach Sam Cook has spent 30 years coaching basketball and soccer, including middle school basketball at Barstow and multiple other teams currently outside of Barstow. Outside of coaching, Sam has spent his life working with youth across a variety of circumstances in the Kansas City area — always focused on having a positive impact on their lives and futures.
IMPACT Basketball is built on that same philosophy: relationships first, real teaching, and a genuinely fun gym to be in. Show up for the details, invest in every kid on the roster, and build something families can actually trust.
