A new home for competitive youth basketball in Kansas City — where coaches know every kid by name, practice is something they actually look forward to, and the game gets taught the right way.
Why We Exist
We're not trying to be the biggest club in Kansas City.
We're trying to be the one that gets it right. IMPACT Basketball started with a simple frustration: too many programs make families choose between real player development and a coach who actually knows their kid.
So we built something smaller and more deliberate, around three things: real relationships, a genuinely fun atmosphere, and real basketball instruction. Every coach on our staff knows every kid they coach — not just their position. Practice stays something players want to show up for, and fundamentals get taught, not assumed. Participating in practice and being put in the right situations in games is key to that growth — so every kid plays and finds their own way to make an impact on the game and the team.
IMPACT Basketball is a for-profit club based in Kansas City, Missouri, built to serve families on both sides of the state line — from Jackson County to Johnson County and everywhere in between.

Real Relationships First
Every coach on staff knows every kid they coach — name, story, and what's going on off the court. Trust comes before technique.
A Fun Atmosphere
Kids play their best — and stick with the game longest — when practice is something they look forward to, not something they dread.
We Teach Basketball
Ball-handling, footwork, shot mechanics, reading the game — real instruction every practice, not just supervised scrimmaging.
Programs
Local basketball, grades 3–6
Includes weekly league games and tournament games, depending on team level and scheduling conflicts.
What's Included
- Two coached practices per week, plus weekend tournament play
- Real playing time for every kid — practice reps and in-game situations built for their success
- Coaching staff with AAU and travel-team experience
- Gym time, league fees, and season scheduling handled for you
- Registration & team communication managed through our team platform
- Open evaluations before each season — no tryouts, no cuts, every player makes a team
Flat monthly tuition, billed on the 1st, plus a one-time $60 jersey fee at registration. Tournament entry costs may vary by team level.

Coach Sam Cook
Coach Sam Cook has spent 30 years coaching basketball and soccer, including middle school basketball at Barstow and multiple other teams currently outside of Barstow. Outside of coaching, Sam has spent his life working with youth across a variety of circumstances in the Kansas City area — always focused on having a positive impact on their lives and futures.
IMPACT Basketball is built on that same philosophy: relationships first, real teaching, and a genuinely fun gym to be in. Show up for the details, invest in every kid on the roster, and build something families can actually trust.

Evaluation Day: September 15
7:00 – 9:00 PM at Westridge Middle School. There are no tryouts at IMPACT — every player who signs up gets evaluated, placed on a team, and a real chance to make their impact on the game.
